書刊捐贈與處理要點 Guidelines for the Donation and Processing of Books and Periodicals

一、 本館鼓勵各界踴躍捐贈書刊資料,以豐富本館館藏資源;為使捐贈書刊資料符合本館館藏發展政策,特訂定此要點。
二、 捐贈資料收錄原則:
(一)捐贈內容應以適合大學以上程度閱讀為宜,並符合本館館藏主題為佳。館藏主題包括:
1. 工程技術類
2. 管理技術類
3. 設計技術類
4. 一般自然技術類
5. 一般社會科學類
6. 文史哲、語言類
(二)捐贈之書刊(含電子資源)需符合著作權法相關法令規定之出版品,視聽資料必須具備公播版授權。
(三)科技類圖書資料需具備新穎性(理工類及電腦類五年內出版者)。
三、 下列情形之書刊得不予受理:
(一)內容已失時效性,不具學術及參考價值者。
(二)盜版或有違反著作權法規定之虞者。
(三)違背善良風俗習慣及不合時宜參考價值之書刊。
(四)破損、裝訂不牢固、易脫落、缺頁之書刊或殘缺不全之套書。
(五)內有註記、眉批、劃線者。
(六)個人剪報及散頁資料。
(七)中小學教科書。
四、 捐贈資料處理原則:
(一)凡不符合捐贈資料收錄原則者,本館得不受理或以轉贈他館等方式處理。
(二)本館得 保留贈書之處理權(入藏、交換或贈送),捐贈者不得要求就其捐贈之書刊另闢專櫃陳列或指定書刊資料之處理方式。
五、 捐贈獎勵方式:
(一)捐贈書刊者,本館備專函致謝,並於網頁上公佈捐贈芳名以公開致謝。
(二)符合本館入館年齡之校外人士單次捐書且納入館藏數量達100冊(含)以上,可獲感謝狀乙紙一年期榮譽借書證乙張。|
六、 捐贈方式:
捐贈書刊可以郵寄方式寄至本館技術服務組,或於本館開館時間逕送至本館 1樓流通服務櫃檯。校內之大批贈書無法親送時,請聯繫技術服務組贈書業務承辦。
七、 交贈資料處理原則:
(一)交換資料須符合本館館藏發展政策,且以等量或等值為原則。
(二)需透過交換取得書刊時,轉至校內各出版單位辦理,交換而來之書刊由本館負責典藏。
八、 送存資料:
本校博碩士生畢業時,需將學位論文圖文全部電子檔上傳至本館網頁之博碩士論文系統,並呈繳平裝紙本學位論文一冊以供永久保存。
九、 本要點經圖書館館務會議通過後,陳請館長核定後實施,修正時亦同。

To enrich its collection, the Library of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as "the Library") encourages donations of books and periodicals from the public. These guidelines are formulated to ensure that donated materials align with the Library's collection development policy.

Principles for accepting donated materials:
(1) Donations should be appropriate for readers at the university level or above and preferably align with the Library's collection themes, which include:
1. Engineering and Technology
2. Management and Technology
3. Design and Technology
4. General Natural Sciences and Technology
5. General Social Sciences
6. Humanities, History, Philosophy, and Languages
(2) Donated materials (including electronic resources) must comply with relevant copyright laws. Audiovisual materials must have public performance rights.
(3) Books in the fields of science and technology must be current, preferably published within the past five years in engineering or computer science. -
Donations with the following characteristics may not be accepted:
(1) Outdated materials lacking academic or reference value.
(2) Pirated or potentially copyright-infringing publications.
(3) Materials that are contrary to public decency or have no contemporary reference value.
(4) Damaged, poorly bound, incomplete books, or sets with missing volumes.
(5) Books containing annotations, marginalia, or underlining.
(6) Personal clippings or loose-leaf materials.
(7) Elementary and secondary school textbooks. -
Principles for processing donations:
(1) Donations that do not meet the above criteria may be declined or redirected (e.g., to other libraries).
(2) The Library reserves the right to determine the final disposition of all donated materials (including inclusion in the collection, exchange, or further donation). Donors may not request special shelving, display, or specific handling of their donations. -
Recognition for donations:
(1) The Library will send a formal letter of appreciation and publicly acknowledge donors on its website.
(2) Individuals from outside the university who donate 100 or more items accepted into the collection in a single donation will receive a certificate of appreciation and a one-year honorary library card. -
Donation methods:
Donated materials may be mailed to the Technical Services Division of the Library or delivered in person to the Circulation Desk on the first floor during opening hours. For large-scale on-campus donations that cannot be delivered in person, please contact the Technical Services Division.

Guidelines for the exchange of materials:
(1) Exchanged materials must align with the Library's collection development policy and be of equal quantity or value.
(2) When materials are acquired via exchange, the process should be coordinated through the University's publishing units. The Library will handle the preservation of the exchanged materials. -
Submission of university theses and dissertations:
Graduating master's and doctoral students must upload the full-text electronic version of their thesis or dissertation to the Library's Thesis and Dissertation System and submit one softbound printed copy for permanent archiving.

These guidelines shall take effect after approval by the Library Affairs Meeting and ratification by the University Librarian. Amendments shall follow the same procedure.
