1. These guidelines are established by the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology Library (hereinafter referred to as "the Library") to provide audiovisual resources that support teaching and research needs of faculty and students.
2. The Library's audiovisual materials and equipment are available for use by the University's faculty, staff (including their dependents), students, alumni, and holders of the Library Friends' "Borrowing Card."
3. The Library's audiovisual collection includes video, audio, and multimedia materials. Among them, videotapes, audiotapes, laser discs, and DVDs labeled "Available for Loan" may be borrowed. Other materials are restricted to in-library use unless otherwise approved by the Library for teaching or research purposes.
4. The opening hours of the Audiovisual Resource Center shall be announced following a resolution passed by the Library Affairs Meeting.
5. Audiovisual materials are managed in an open-shelf format. Users may retrieve materials themselves and must complete borrowing procedures in person with valid identification. Borrowing on behalf of others or transferring borrowed items is prohibited.
6. The borrowing limits and loan periods are as follows:
(1) Faculty and staff may borrow up to 5 items for 2 weeks.
(2) Students, alumni, and Library Friends' cardholders may borrow up to 5 items for 1 week.
7. Borrowed audiovisual materials may be reserved but not renewed. Faculty members may apply to reserve materials for semester-long in-library use by students for teaching purposes.
8. Borrowed audiovisual materials must be returned on time. Otherwise, all borrowing privileges will be suspended, and a late fee of NT$10 per item per day will be charged. Users with outstanding late fees will not be permitted to complete departure or separation procedures.
9. If borrowed audiovisual materials or equipment are lost or damaged, the borrower must either replace them with identical public performance versions or compensate at twice the original price of the public performance version.
10. Audiovisual materials and equipment must be used properly according to the Library's instructions. Users must check the condition of equipment before use and report any malfunctions or damage to the staff immediately.
11. Audiovisual materials not provided by the Library may not be played within the Library. Unauthorized copying using Library equipment is strictly prohibited. Violators will bear full legal responsibility for copyright infringement.
12. Use of Personal Study Rooms:
(1) These rooms may be borrowed during open hours. However, no new borrowings will be allowed within 20 minutes of closing time.
(2) When using Library audiovisual materials or equipment, users must borrow them in person with valid identification. Only one item per person is allowed and must be returned on the same day.
13. Use of the Media Rooms:
(1) Reservations are required for the use of media rooms. If a reservation must be canceled, users are requested to notify the Library in advance to allow reassignment. Users who fail to show up within 30 minutes of the reserved time will forfeit their reservation.
(2) In principle, small media rooms require a group of at least 4 people, and large media rooms require at least 8. However, these limits may be waived for teaching-related purposes.
(3) Faculty may apply to use the Group Viewing Room for teaching purposes. However, to ensure fairness and equal access, the Group Viewing Room shall not be used as a designated classroom or reserved on a long-term basis.
