▲Exhibition Hall

Exhibition Hall provides intermural academic
units, staff and students to hold plan and
instruction performance presentation and club
exhibition.

Reading promotion, books exchange and
Library Week are regularly held at the Exhibition Hall. Application for using the field by the
extramural art and culture groups are allowed to
activate the use of space and promote diverse
arts and cultural activities for lifelong learning in
the community.

University
Archives


University Archives

University Archives is located at the right side of the exhibition hall. It provides teachers,
students, guests and the freshmen to know
YunTech's establishment concept, teachers and
environment and future development to
enhance cohesion.

University Archives was originally located at the 1F of International Conference Hall. Due to
long-term water leakage, the collection facilities and archives were damp, so it was replaced in
2016. Opening Ceremony was held in
November before the 26th Anniversary, and
open for the pubic to visit.

University Archives combines physical cultural
artifacts, digital collection and dynamic videos to display foundation archives, foundation
president memorial area and history
development.

The themes of Digital Archives include About
YunTech, Successive Presidents, Outstanding
Performance, International Exchange, Paradigm Personnel and Prospects. It is available for the public to click on the screen or browse online.

Selfie Zone

Selfie Zone is located at the left side of the
exhibition hall. There is a 70-inch touchscreen
with an interactive and synthesizing photograph software. Intermural staff and students,
extramural readers and visitors can have a
selfie with campus sceneries and mail the
photos timely through using this digital learning
facility.

Area


Digital Reading Area

Digital Reading Area is a digitalization and
convenient platform with a 70-inch touchscreen. Zinio E-magazine is installed on the platform
and with various themes of magazines, such as business and finance, language learning, digital technology, traveling and food, fashion trend,
interior design and art culture. The platform
provides readers with digital learning in reading, acquire the latest knowledge of global
information, and effectively grasp the pulsation of the world. Moreover, a free charging service
for mobile phones is set up here and supply
readers with two charging methods, wireless
and usb, in this way, readers could charge at
any time.

■To assist students in solving schoolwork and
career planning, Study Consulting Room is set up in the 2nd floor to provide interdisciplinary
consulting service. In every semester, voluntary guidance is offered by teachers recruited in the specialized fields of each department. Students can make reservation online for face-to-face
guidance and consultation according to their
learning needs.

 

 

■A multi-functional area with reading, collection, learning and discussion are set up to support
the instruction and research demands of
interdisciplinary academic courses, and
encourage students to study classic books and
teachers' literary works systematically.

The books in this area are recommended by the library committees of each college for the
must-read classic books that have a profound
impact on the discipline professional field or
personality literacy training, and guide students to know the subtle influence of reading good
books in the learning process, and cultivate
active interdisciplinary specialties. The design of the collection bookcase uses color to distinguish each college. Composable tables and chairs are provided in this reading and discussion space
according to readers' needs for creatively
playing the multiple applications of learning
equipment and improving the usage efficiency.

Collection &
Exhibition Area

Design contract, design drawings, books
collected in Architectural Design Collection and Exhibition Area are donated by Creative Design Associate Professor He Chao-Hsi. Here provide teaching applications for teachers and students of College of Design, as well as a reading
space for readers who are interested in interior design. A total of 1,324 architectural design
documents collection are displayed.

Familiar with civil engineering, public works and construction management, Associate Professor He Chao-Hsi who served as the director of
Taichung City Government Department of
Urban Development. Upholding the gratitude of giving back, he began to sort out the precious
materials of the design and planning "He
Chao-Hsi Architects" participated over the years and donated to Yunlin University of Science and Technology after retiring in February, 2015. He hoped to pass on the professional knowledge of field activation, space reuse and exhibition
design through case analysis of both theory and practice.

Comic Area


Comic Area

Comic Area collects the classic works of
Taiwanese early native cartoonists, as well as
the brilliant works of emerging cartoonists and
comic award winners from all over the world,
covering multiple topics such as reasoning,
sports, art, food, workplace, financial
management, science, etc. Here is the best
choice for readers when reading leisurely.

The planning of this area has escaped the
inherent impression of the university library and is completed with a novel and new atmosphere. The hollow design at the entrance creates a
sense of space transparency. You can also see several large-scale comic posters and figurines at a glance. The reading seats include backrest sofa chairs, ball-shaped chairs and
curve-shaped chairs with comic pattern pillows placed. Readers can choose your favorite
comics, have a comfortable sit, and immerse
yourself in the atmosphere of comics country.

Also, there is a second-hand comic exchange
area called "Comic BookCrossing Fun" in this
area, which provides a place for comic lovers to exchange and share. Whether you want to find a new owner for comics, or bring back good
comics shared by others, readers are welcome
to share and use them freely.

Area

Picture Book Area is a rare characteristic
collection area in domestic colleges and
universities, with nearly 8,000 Chinese and
Western picture books. Strictly select
well-known domestic foreign children's books
and new and excellent works, covering fairy
tales and fables, folktales, children's poems and novels, language learning, artistic cultivation,
knowledge encyclopedia and others, providing
readers with a variety of choices.

The characteristics of the collection are very
suitable for English learners to increase their
interest in learning by reading natural and vivid books; for readers in learning design and
creation, providing exotic classic picture images to give inspiration with a worldview; for parents caring about children's learning and
development, providing lending books to have
reading time with children and cultivate the habit of loving reading.

The layout of this area is warm, with wooden
floors, styling sofas, reading tables and chairs,
and readers can sit on the ground or vertical
seats, providing comfortable rest and reading
pleasure.

Hakka Book &
Culture
Collection Area

There have been Hakka people living in the
Yunlin area since the early Qing Dynasty. In
order to let the public know the local ethnic
groups and preserve their traditional culture,
library cooperated with Center for Hakka
Studies to set up Hakka Book and Culture
Collection Area. Here are displayed traditional
Hakka cultural relics and decorate tables and
chairs with Hakka characteristic floral fabrics.

In Cultural Collection Area, here collects Assistant Professor Chen Wei-Ching’s books and artifacts of last love, and《Fujian
Literature Compilation》,《Siku Quanshu》donated by Fujian Normal University.


Cultural Collection Area

■Assistant Professor Chen Wei-Ching in
Department of Cultural Heritage Conservation
passed away at the end of 2008. Before her
death, she decided to donate 3,139 volumes of Chinese and foreign books and more than 500 pieces of archaeological ceramics, manuscripts and other artifacts collected throughout her life
to YunTech Library. Her mother Lin A-Chu
donated on behalf of the professor on May 24th, 2009. "Great love in collection of 3000 artifacts, fragrance in literature inherited to YunTech” left
the love for the campus.

Professor Chen's collection of books and
artifacts covers widely, and is of great value for
research on art history, archaeology, antiquities, artifacts identification, preservation and
maintenance. Among them, there are three
invaluable ceramics pieces earned by her hard work in Shanxi archaeology when she was a
graduate student of Department of Archaeology at Peking University. First, Yaozhou kilns in
Song Dynasty are more exquisite than jade.
Second, official kilns in the Southern Song
Dynasty, which collected pearls from bubbles.
Last is Yue kilns of the Tang Dynasty.

 
▲Fujian University Fujian Literature Compilation》– Fujian version of 《Siku Quanshu》
■The hardcover book, 《Fujian Literature
Compilation》, compiles all the literature about Fujian and all the works on the study of Fujian
culture, which can be called the Fujian version
of 《Siku Quanshu》. This set of local classics
reflects Fujian's history and culture. In addition
to selecting the literature on Fujian history in
Wenjin Ge's 《Siku Quanshu》, it also includes important handed down documents written and compiled by famous Fujianese and non-Fujian
people. All the works of Fujian culture and
history are compiled into a volume. The
collection is temporarily limited to those written before 1912, and contains more than 330 kinds of Fujian classics and nearly 10,000 volumes of literatures. This set of books is a masterpiece of local literature with a total of 160 volumes and more than 65 million words. It is a treasure
house of materials for studying the local
academic culture and history.

BLIA Humanistic Buddhist
Research Area

The collections in BLIA Humanistic Buddhist
Research Area display more than 1,000 volumes of Fo Guang Shan's "Human Buddhism
Research Series" donated by Buddhist Light
International Association on November 19,
2013. Donation included "Fo Guang Buddhist
Canon”, "Fo Guang Dictionary”, “Buddhist Art
Dictionary”, "Biography of Eminent Monks",
"Treasures of Vernacular Classics", "Humanistic Buddhist Quotations" and "One Century of
Buddhist Fate" by Master Hsing-Yun, providing
reference for the study of Buddhism, philosophy, religion, literature and life science.

Fo Guang Shan’s aim is humanistic Buddhism
and adheres to the educational philosophy of
Master Hsing-Yun. Thanks to Fo Guang Shan
and Master Hsing-Yun for their compassionate and selfless concepts, donating and sharing
precious collection books, and hope that
through the display and promotion, teachers,
students and the community can learn from
reading and realize the true meaning of
Buddhism Then, integrate life education into
daily life, and cultivate the positive concept to
make life shining.

Multimedia Resource Center is an audio-visual multi-functional digital learning space that
combines learning and leisure. It is set up with
eBook Reading Area, Multi-Media Instruction
Classroom, Music Listening Area, Seminar
Rooms and Group Rooms for watching popular videos.

 

 


■To promote the trend of green reading and
enhance the interest in digital learning, "eBook Reading Area" is set up to display various types of reading carriers, such as BENQ, Kindle, iPad, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad Pro and Apple Pencil,
etc. Teachers and students can browse
electronic resources by experiencing the latest digital technology products, and here also
provides e-book readers for free loan to extend
the fun of cloud reading and uninterrupted
self-learning.


■Multi-Media Instruction Classroom can
accommodate 66 people, including 2 accessible seats. Each seat is equipped with an
independent foldable writing table. Amphitheater is adopted and each row of seats has different
heights, which is more suitable for video viewing and instruction in class. Equipped with mono
projectors, 3D projector, stereo with surround
sound, DVD players, digital multi-function
lectern, computer and wireless network, etc. It
not only provides for instruction use, but also
broadcasts for weekly popular movies, 3D
projection equipment is equipped with 3D
glasses and films, and the realistic perspective of theater effect is like enjoying in a movie
theater. International instruction seminars,
various director's talks of domestic film festivals are held from time to time in this classroom,
which is the best place to support instruction,
conferences and seminars.

■Music Listening Area combines a set of lounge sofa and an independent rest area for music
appreciation. A variety of sofa seats are
provided, and multiple music listening machines and selected music CDs are set up next to the
seats for readers to enjoy.

Readers who like music, movies or photography can also read themed magazines here.
Wireless Internet is accessible in this area. You can bring laptops or mobile carriers to enjoy
online services such as "K MOVIE " audio-visual streaming platform, and immerse yourself in the entertainment feast.


■The space design and digital upgrade
equipment installation of Multi-functional
Discussion Room is a large-scale creative
seminar space that can accommodate 40 seats, and online reservation service is provided.

The design of the trapezoidal reading table in
this seminar room can be adjusted according to the number of people, discussion groups and
various combination modes. The L-shaped
whiteboard wall allows users to enjoy a large
space when inspiration emerges, the creative
ideas can be fully recorded and presented.
Through projection technology, files such as
briefing content, graphics and images can be
placed on the portable 65-inch touch display
digital learning device to assist teachers in
interactive instruction or student exchanges and presentations.

Here mainly collects the collections of College of Design and Art Chinese Books. The
renovation of the 9th floor is to collect books
with call number of 900, so it is named "Stacks No. 9". To coordinate the special specifications and attributes of the book collection, bar
reading seats and art chandeliers are set up to make a romantic atmosphere. Not only collect and preserve art books, this area also displays works created by teachers and students in
Department of Architecture and Interior Design for appreciation and observation.

■Reading Area is spacious and quiet, and is
open for faculty and students to use by swiping campus card freely. Nearly 170 reading seats
with independent square tables, long tables and backrest reading chairs are provided. In order to relieve the fatigue caused by focused reading,
there are comfortable sofas for readers to take an intermittent rest.

 

 


■In order to meet students' needs for night
self-study, 24-hour Study Room is set up. The
spatial configuration adopts the perspective
floor-to-ceiling glass to keep readers safe.
There is a blackboard wall on one side for
graffiti, so that students can change their mood when they are tired from studying and continue to burn the midnight oil.

9 single self-study seats are provided, and
divided by YunTech's main visual green and
orange partitions, which are matched with
comfortable armchairs, and a long bar table
with 6 high chair seats and 2 single small sofas. Composite multi-type reading tables and chairs are available for choosing.

 

 

■Learning Corner is equipped with host
computer, digital LCD screen, projectors,
projection screens, microphones, electronic
whiteboards, movable chairs. It provides
teachers and students with application for
microcredit courses instruction, holding reading clubs or workshops, etc. Users can control the
system through intelligent equipment, such as
controlling the brightness of the lights, switching the desk signal, and setting the screen teaching mode to create a high-quality modern digital
learning environment.
